Taught Orchestration Symphonique, an undergraduate course. Teaching the mastery in writing for diverse instrument combinations and orchestral groups, including solo voice and choir: orchestral layouts, chord arrangements, doublings, secondary melodies, accompaniments, bass lines, polyphony, vertical and horizontal balance, colorations, volumes, and textures.
Professional presentation of orchestral material development.
Advanced internal ear training: Identification of a piece's orchestration by ear. Recognition of instrumental combinations. Understanding of an orchestral piece's balance solely from the score.
